PhotoBath has a small team of volunteers who help run and organise the collective. The steering group are a mixed group of people interested in expanding Photography locally and in the documentary, fine art emphasis of PhotoBath.

Jon Leahy
Jon worked for around 20 years as a lecturer in media education and photography. He has organised, curated and exhibited in a number of photography exhibitions and has self-published two books. He is a founder member of PhotoBath and continues to work on various creative documentary projects.
Carlos Ordonez
Carlos was a PhotoBath founder member in 2015, after moving to Bath from Stroud. There he established PhotoStroud with Fred Chance and staged the first photography festival in the South West in 2007, in partnership with 31 Studio. He’s a founder member of the Gloucestershire Printmakers Cooperative, organising international print festivals in the UK and Cuba, and was responsible for initiating the Stroud Film Festival in 2014. He’s worked in arts collectives in London, and as an architectural designer in Chicago, community development worker in councils and charities, and political researcher at the House of Commons. He’s particularly interested in collaborative projects and is working on a photography exhibition at Fototeca in Havana in 20120.
Phil Hendy
Phil is originally from Bristol and is one of the co-founders of PhotoBath in 2014. He studied graphic design at what is now the University of Arts London. After leaving university, he worked on films of celebrated independent film maker, Steve Dwoskin as well as National Film and Television School and independent productions in a variety of rolls including as first camera assistant in 16mm graduation productions. He won a BFI ‘New Directors’ award in 1989 for a short film which he wrote and directed. At about the same time he secured a three month British Council exchange to the Art & Design College in Wroclaw, Poland. Since then he has returned to graphic design and in later years has moved toward digital animation and video making. Recently, he has launched his design company, Bear Flat Media Ltd. Photography has always been central to his creative activities. He is married with one son and has lived in Bath since 2008.
Caroline Frances-King
Caroline studied photography in London in the late ‘70s, then film and television production at UCLA. She worked in the film industry in Los Angeles for 10 years as stills photographer, script supervisor and production coordinator. On returning to the UK she retrained in countryside management and for the last 25 years has worked in community development and fundraising for the social and environmental voluntary sector. She helped found the Bath Society of Botanical Artists in 2002 and exhibits her paintings at their bi-annual exhibitions at BRLSI. In 2010 she created a portfolio of medicinal plant paintings in rural China for the University of Zurich and has exhibited at the RHS international botanical art show in London.
Daz Smith
Daz first started his photographic journey on a youth training scheme in 1986-88 developing & printing his own black and white photos. He rediscovered photography five years ago and since then has been teaching himself everything he can find in the art. His focus is on street and documentary mainly in Black and white.
