Hannah Mentz has recently emigrated to Bath with her family from Cape Town, SA and has published a book of her captivating portraits celebrating outstanding women of Zimbabwe, which was well recieved and earned a feature in The Guardian on its launch.
An award-winning photojournalist based in Warsaw, Chris Niedenthal, has chronicled the massive changes that have taken place in Eastern Europe from the 1980s to the present day.
Carlo Chinca, who famously photographed Salvador Dali and took poignant images in New York immediately following 9/11.
We are also delighted to welcome the renowned and award-winning street photographer, Matt Stuart who has strong connections with Bath.
The pandemic has been a period of prolonged disruption and loss. PhotoBath slipped into a period of suspended animation, but took the opportunity to reflect on its achievements and challenges. Over our seven-year history, we have had some exceptional successes – from collaborating with master platinum printers Paul and Max Caffell of 31 Studio, near Stroud, on an exhibition of extraordinary work by the Brazilian photographer, Sebastiao Salgado, to mounting a number of group shows and publishing four books of its members’ work.
We are dedicating the current exhibition to the memory of two-valued and much-missed former members – Gabriel Stillwater and David Kernek – who died earlier this year.
