In 2017, western media has been ignited by ‘Alternative Facts’ and ‘Post truth’. But how can we interpret it, or illustrate alternative facts? And are they necessarily falsehoods? Perhaps both alternatives can be valid and it’s just about perception and perspective.
In the largest exhibition of work staged in its three year history, the photography non-profit collective, based in Bath, PhotoBath has taken this theme for its 2017 exhibition of members work.
PhotoBath is all about fine at and documentary imagery and this exhibition is about each photographer’s visual and storytelling interpretation of a given scene, rather than a politically motivated commentary.
Contributors have submitted an eclectic and diverse range of remarkable interpretations to a theme which is prescient but difficult to determine and articulate.
Work is for sale, subject to the photographers’ permission, but visitors may at least take away a newly discovered alternative outlook.
Venue:
As last year, the venue will be 44AD Artspace, 4 Abbey St. Bath. BA1 1NN.
